A fresh set of eyes Post-Go Live but a global ERP project back on track for a logistics business

Challenge

A global logistics business used an old AS400 finance system for more than 20 years. The parent company chose to move to Oracle E-Business Suite. However, the design did not involve the Australian team. As a result, many parts of the new system did not match local needs.

When the system went live, the Finance Team could not process journals or finish reconciliations. They also struggled to produce basic reports. Because of this, the backlog grew every week. Even though more staff joined, the problems continued.

Approach

First, we met with end users to understand how they worked. We asked simple questions, reviewed processes, and listed every issue. Next, we mapped each gap and confirmed the real requirements. In addition, we explained the impact of each problem so leaders could see where to focus.

After this, we travelled to the parent company’s head office in Europe. We worked side by side with the development team. Together, we fixed key functions, added missing features, and created new reports. Finally, we wrote a clear and simple blueprint that the group later used for future rollouts.

Business Problem

The global ERP rollout left the Australian business unable to use the system. Therefore, important work stopped, reporting fell behind, and customers and suppliers became unhappy.
